Glasshouse maker nets strawberry farm contract
A glasshouse builder is feeling sweet after securing a strawberry farm deal.
CambridgeHOK has been contracted to expand Dyson Farming’s Lincolnshire base.
Bosses say the work will boost the Carrington site by 17 acres and significantly increase the site’s annual 1250-tonne strawberry haul.
The blueprint includes more than 14 acres of polytunnels and an extension to the farm’s existing packhouse with an additional renewables-powered cold store.
The project builds on Cambridge HOK’s creation of Dyson Farming’s first 14-acre strawberry glasshouse at Carrington in 2020 and a second 11-acre expansion in 2024.
Tim Haworth, horticulture director at Newport, near Brough-based CambridgeHOK, said: “A project can be considered a success if a customer comes back for project two and project three.
“For that to happen with a customer of the standing of Dyson Farming is very satisfying.
“It shows they trust our knowledge and expertise.”
