Rhinowash looks to clean up following backing
A Scottish manufacturer of high-performance pressure washing equipment is set to scale its sustainable cleaning technology offer after securing a six-figure investment.
Wishaw-based Rhinowash has received funding from UKSE, a subsidiary of Tata Steel, to support the expansion of its product-as-a-service model and create nine jobs over the next five years.
Founded in 1975, Rhinowash designs, manufactures and maintains industrial pressure washing equipment for customers including local authorities, transport and haulage operators and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
The company currently employs 19 people and manages design, production, servicing and remanufacture in-house.
The Rhino One is an industrial-grade modular pressure washing system built around detachable and refurbishable components, designed to extend product lifespan, reduce waste and support circular economy principles.
Bosses say the investment will help the company grow its fleet of Rhino One pressure washing units, strengthen its service infrastructure and increase operational capacity.
John Burns, director at Rhinowash, said: “Our focus has always been on building equipment that lasts and supports customers over the long term.
“Moving to a product-as-a-service model is a natural progression of that approach, but it requires a significant upfront investment to work at scale.
“This funding gives us the ability to grow that model properly – increasing the number of units we can deploy, improving the service we offer, and continuing to invest in the infrastructure behind it.
“It also puts us in a strong position to create new roles across the business as demand increases.”
Rhinowash was introduced to UKSE through Scottish Enterprise, with the investment helping bridge a funding gap created by the company’s shift from traditional equipment sales to a service-led business model.
