Work begins on 117-home Liverpool scheme

A homebuilder has begun work on a new housing development in Liverpool.

Barratt Homes has broken ground at The Finches, a 117-home scheme on Lower Road in Merseyside.

The development will feature a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties and is expected to launch later this year, with homes becoming available from autumn 2026.

The housebuilder said the scheme will support around 234 jobs during construction while helping meet demand for new housing in the area.

Located close to Liverpool John Lennon Airport and New Mersey Shopping Park, the development will offer residents easy access to local amenities, major road links and rail connections into Liverpool city centre.

The Finches forms part of the developer’s ongoing investment in delivering new homes and communities across the North West.

Rhys Nicholson, managing director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “We are excited to start work on this brand-new development.

“Our previous developments in Merseyside have been well-received by first-time buyers and growing families alike, and this is the start of another wonderful community.

“We encourage anyone interested in the development to register their interest to receive updates on the homes available to reserve later this year.”
