Charity shoots for success with superstore venture
A charity hopes to score greater support after a superstore launch.
Marie Curie has opened a base in Bradford.
The Enterprise 5 Retail Park venture was officially opened by charity ambassador and football pundit Chris Kamara.
Bosses say the store, which stocks goods including gardening equipment, stationery, gifts and home furnishings, will help the end-of-life charity “continue to provide expert care and support for people and their loved ones”.
Chris, who has been a Marie Curie ambassador since 2010 after his mother Irene was cared for by the charity following a breast cancer diagnosis, said: “It was an honour to open the first-ever retail superstore.
“Marie Curie’s work is invaluable and this superstore is a big milestone.
“I encourage anyone in the area to come down and support it.”
Simon Meek, Marie Curie retail business development manager, added: “The superstore is a new concept, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support we’ve so far received.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming more people through the doors.”
