TVCA recognised for Armed Forces support
A regeneration body has been recognised for its commitment to supporting service personnel, veterans and their families.
Tees Valley Combined Authority has achieved Silver status in the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme.
The award recognises organisations that demonstrate support for the Armed Forces community, including through employment opportunities, flexible working for reservists and engagement with service families.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a national promise that those who serve, or have served, in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
The TVCA first signed the covenant in 2020, securing Bronze status in the scheme.
The Silver award marks a step up in recognition, reflecting the organisation’s strengthened commitment to championing the Armed Forces community across the region.
Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen said: “We can all be proud of this Silver award.
“We have a strong military heritage and we are fully committed to supporting our Armed Forces community through meaningful action, not just words.
“Whether it’s supporting veterans into high-quality jobs, working with reservists, or hosting events at Teesside Airport to honour those who serve and encourage others to sign the pledge, we’re showing what it means to stand by the Covenant.
“This recognition is a great milestone, but we’ll keep pushing to make our region one of the best places in the country for veterans and their families to live and work.”
