Luxury woodland spa opens at South Causey Inn
A County Durham countryside inn has unveiled a collection of private woodland wellness suites as it expands its luxury leisure offering.
South Causey Inn, overlooking the Beamish Valley, has launched The Woodland Spa, a new development featuring treatment rooms and four exclusive spa suites.
Each Woodland Spa Suite can accommodate up to four guests and includes a private sauna, steam room, plunge pool and hydrotherapy whirlpool, as well as a balcony overlooking the surrounding countryside.
Guests can book three-hour private spa sessions, with a dedicated butler service available throughout their visit.
The Woodland Spa also offers TEMPLESPA treatments delivered by experienced therapists, with packages combining spa experiences with lunch, afternoon tea, dining and overnight stays at South Causey Inn.
The new addition is aimed at guests seeking romantic breaks, celebrations, pre-wedding retreats, family occasions or time away with friends.
Open to hotel guests and non-residents, the spa builds on South Causey Inn’s growing reputation as a countryside destination for dining, overnight stays and events.
Located less than half an hour from Newcastle, Durham and Sunderland, the venue also provides a base for visitors exploring the wider North East.
Its appeal has been further boosted by the recently announced extension of Restaurant Hjem’s residency until the end of 2026.
Susan Moiser, owner of South Causey Inn, said: “The Woodland Spa feels like the final piece of the jigsaw for us.
“Over the years, we've worked hard to create a destination where people can enjoy great food and drink, stay in beautiful surroundings and celebrate life's special moments.
“The spa completes that picture by giving guests a dedicated space to relax, unwind and enjoy some time away from the pressures of everyday life.
“Whether it’s a couple looking for some quality time together, friends celebrating a milestone, family members spending time together or someone simply looking to switch off and recharge, we wanted to create an experience that feels both luxurious and personal.”
