Wavenet hires mobile director
Solihull-based managed services and security provider Wavenet has appointed David Hayward as director of mobile as it looks to accelerate growth across its mobile and IoT operations.
David brings more than 25 years of experience in the mobile sector, having held senior leadership roles focused on scaling businesses, developing teams and expanding market presence.
He joins from Radius, where he spent seven years leading mobile distribution and direct sales operations, including a period based in Germany.
Prior to that, he was a major shareholder in Pure Telecom, helping grow the business before its sale in 2019.
In his new role, David will lead Wavenet’s mobile and IoT strategy, with a focus on service innovation, team expansion and strengthening the company's market position.
He said: “I was immediately drawn to the potential within Wavenet.
“When you look at the strength of the customer base, the quality of our existing services and the investment in the business, all the ingredients are there to build something truly compelling in mobile and IoT.
“For me, it’s about bringing that to life, raising awareness and adding value to customers.
“If we can look back in 12 months and see strong growth with a clear story in the market, that’s what success looks like to me.”
David’s appointment comes during a period of continued growth for Wavenet, which has expanded through acquisitions and investment as it strengthens its technology and communications offering across the UK.
Antony Black, chief revenue officer at Wavenet, added: “We’re delighted to welcome David to Wavenet.
“His experience, energy and track record in building successful mobile and IoT businesses speak for themselves.
“As we continue to evolve our proposition, David will play a pivotal role in shaping our mobile strategy and driving the next phase of growth.
“His vision strongly aligns with our ambition to deliver greater value to customers and strengthen our position in the market.”
