Metrocentre adds Hollister to line-up
A global fashion retailer has opened its first Gateshead store at Metrocentre as the shopping destination strengthens its summer retail offer.
Hollister, a division of Abercrombie & Fitch Co., has officially opened in Metrocentre’s Red Mall, bringing its range of apparel, accessories and fragrances.
The opening follows confirmation in January that the brand would join the Gateshead shopping and leisure destination’s fashion line-up.
The new store features Hollister’s latest retail format, with bright interiors and a focus on combining in-store shopping with digital convenience.
Customers can browse collections, try on clothing and sample fragrances, while also using click-and-collect, order-in-store and same-day delivery services.
The range includes denim, hoodies, sweats, T-shirts, swimwear, activewear and sleepwear, alongside accessories, footwear and Hollister’s signature fragrance lines.
New collection drops, limited-edition collaborations and vintage-inspired graphics will also feature in the store.
Ben Cox, director at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, asset managers of Metrocentre, said: “Maintaining Metrocentre’s reputation as the go-to retail destination in the North East relies on catering for all styles, tastes and budgets, and the arrival of global fashion brand Hollister expands the appeal of our premium line-up even further.
“Blending the latest trends and elevated basics with inclusive sizing, quality and affordable prices, Hollister is the perfect complement to an increasingly dynamic retail mix that includes Zara, Mango, Urban Outfitters and Stradivarius – and, opening in coming months, Bershka and Lefties.”
To mark the opening, the first 200 customers to make a purchase will receive a limited-edition Hollister Newcastle tote bag worth £5.
The arrival adds another well-known name to Metrocentre’s Red Mall, which continues to attract fashion and lifestyle brands ahead of the summer shopping season.
