Tricycle manufacturer wheels into Chester

A tricycle manufacturer is expanding its retail network with a new showroom designed to help more people enjoy the freedom of cycling.

York-headquartered Jorvik Tricycles will open the doors to its third showroom in Chester on Thursday, June 25, giving customers the chance to try its full 12-strong range of tricycles.

The new 4706sq ft showroom and workshop, based at Central Trading Estate, includes a purpose-built 300 metre square indoor test track designed to replicate real road conditions.

Featuring a roundabout, three exits and dual lanes, the track allows customers to test ride tricycles in a safe, weatherproof setting before making a purchase.

The opening follows the launch of Jorvik’s Southampton showroom in late 2025 and underlines the company’s continued investment in physical retail.

Visitors can try models including the recently launched RIDA, RIDA X and VANDRA +, with walk-ins welcome and bespoke one-to-one consultations available.

Founded in 2014 by James Walker, Jorvik Tricycles has grown from a small handmade operation into a multi-million-pound retailer that has supported more than 35,000 customers.

James said: “Opening a third showroom is a huge achievement for us and marks another important milestone in Jorvik’s growth journey. 

“Investing in bricks-and-mortar locations and bringing Jorvik closer to customers across the UK remains a key part of our strategy, particularly as many of our customers value the opportunity to see, test ride and compare tricycles in person before making a purchase. 

“Over the last few years, we've seen continued demand across the North West and Wales through our home demonstration service, so we're thrilled to bring a dedicated showroom to Chester and provide even more people with access to expert advice, one-to-one consultations and hands-on product demonstrations.”
