Creative agency Mud appoints digital design director
Bath-based creative agency Mud has appointed Oliver Ware as digital design director, completing its senior leadership team as the company looks to build on a growing portfolio of web design and development projects.
Oliver joins from The FA, where he spent six years as lead visual designer, helping shape the England Football brand and leading design initiatives across digital learning and engagement platforms.
An award-winning designer recognised in the BIMA 100 Class of 2024, he brings more than 20 years of creative experience, having worked with brands including Rolls-Royce, BMW, MINI, Samsung, Sky, Warner Bros, Universal Studios and Dolby.
In his new role, Oliver will lead the agency’s design output and support the continued evolution of its creative offering.
He said: “After six incredible years at the FA, I’m delighted to join the team at Mud to shape the design direction for their digital projects.
“With a reputation for creating impactful work, and a fresh focus on building brand and digital systems that can grow and flex to serve the strategic goals of their clients, it’s an exciting time to be joining an agency where craft and collaboration are valued above all else.”
Oliver’s appointment follows Mud's recent success at the Creative Bath Awards, where it was named Agency of the Year, and completes a leadership team that includes creative director Matt Powell, development director Russ Back and operations director Meg West.
The move forms part of the agency’s plans to expand the scope of client projects and further strengthen its design capabilities.
Matt Powell, co-founder and creative director at Mud, added: “Oliver is an accomplished designer with a brilliant reputation from his many years at the FA, where he successfully brought together a wide-range of design disciplines to create beautiful, functional digital experiences.
“His brand and product-based experience brings some fresh thinking into the fold of our small, yet strong design team, and a new-level of strategic thinking to our leadership team to shape the next chapter of Mud as a creative agency.”
