Festival founder launches ticket platform

A North East events entrepreneur has launched a subscription-based ticketing platform designed to help more people discover live entertainment and try new experiences.

Conleth Maenpaa, founder of Lindisfarne Festival, has launched INLET Ticketing, a new app-led platform offering subscribers access to exclusive ticket opportunities for gigs, comedy, festivals and other live events.

The service, which costs £5 per month, has been created to encourage audiences to step outside their usual habits, discover new venues and support artists, promoters and event spaces.

Initially focused on music, comedy and festivals, INLET is already working with a growing range of partners, from grassroots venues to major concerts and large-scale festivals.

Conleth said: “I built Lindisfarne Festival from scratch, so I understand both sides of the barrier – the excitement of being front row at a brilliant live event, but also the challenges of creating those experiences in the first place.

“There is so much happening around us, but people don’t always hear about it.

“Algorithms often feed us more of the same, and as a result, people can miss incredible events, artists and venues that might be right on their doorstep.

“That’s where INLET comes in.”

The platform has also introduced a freemium tier, giving users limited access to selected events before committing to a subscription.

Subscribers receive alerts when new ticket drops go live and can claim tickets through the app, often with the option to bring guests.

Conleth added: “When people take a chance on something new, everybody wins.

“A venue gets a new customer.

“An artist reaches fresh audiences.

“And the customer might discover something they absolutely love.

“That’s what excites us most – helping create those connections.”

INLET also includes measures designed to support event partners, with members asked to check in at events, provide feedback and confirm venue spend.

A points-based system has been introduced to encourage subscribers to only claim tickets they intend to use, helping reduce no-shows and build trust with partners.

Conleth added: “Not everything great is sold out.

“Some of the best nights out are the ones you didn’t know you were looking for.

“If INLET helps more people get out, discover something new and support live events in the process, then we’re doing exactly what we set out to do.”

Following its soft launch and strong early uptake, INLET is now expanding its event offering, with plans to move into theatre and other live entertainment while broadening its reach beyond the North East.
