B. Braun UK strengthens ESG team with internal promotion

Medical technology company B. Braun UK, headquartered in Sheffield, has promoted Sophie Spencer to social value and ESG specialist, recognising her contribution to the firm’s sustainability and social value agenda.

Sophie joined the company in 2022 as part of the events team before moving into a social value and evidence apprenticeship in 2024. 

During that time, she led the development of B. Braun’s social value programme, chaired its sustainability technical group, collaborated with colleagues across the wider B. Braun Group and supported social value responses for tender submissions.

In her new role, she will focus on measuring and communicating the positive impact the business delivers for patients, colleagues and communities, helping to translate evidence into clear and commercially meaningful outcomes.

Sophie said: “I’m incredibly proud to be stepping into this role and to have the opportunity to build on the work we've already started.

“Social value and ESG are areas I feel passionately about, and I’m excited to help B. Braun tell the story of the difference it makes to patients. 

“Achieving a distinction in my apprenticeship was a real milestone, and I’m looking forward to what comes next.”
