Foundation unveils anniversary shirt

A North East charity has unveiled a limited-edition anniversary football shirt, giving supporters the chance to celebrate its milestone while helping fund its work across the region.

The Foundation of Light, Sunderland AFC’s official charity, revealed its fan-voted 25th Anniversary Shirt during its annual Fixtures Breakfast, with supporters now invited to register their interest ahead of pre-orders opening.

Designed by Hummel, the commemorative shirt was chosen through a public vote and marks 25 years of the charity’s work using the power of football to transform lives across the North East.

Featuring a bespoke anniversary design and special sleeve detailing, the shirt will be available from September 2026.

Every purchase will help support Foundation of Light’s education, health, wellbeing, employability and sport programmes, which benefit more than 23,000 people each year.

The charity has also thanked Hummel for bringing the design to life, alongside the supporters who helped select the final shirt through the public vote.
