Azets expands North East corporate finance team

International accountancy and business advisory group Azets has appointed Dom Caunt to its North East corporate finance team.

Based across the firm's Newcastle and Teesside offices, Dom joins with 14 years of experience advising owner-managed businesses and SMEs on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.

He brings expertise in private equity investment, transaction execution and strategic advisory, having previously held roles at Mazars, Deloitte, BDO and private equity house Foresight.

Dom will support business owners and management teams across the North East, while also working with clients nationwide.

He said: “I’m passionate about building strong long-term relationships with business owners and management teams, helping them navigate important strategic decisions with confidence. 

“Azets has a highly regarded corporate finance team with real momentum in the market, and I’m excited to contribute to its continued growth.” 

Dom’s appointment follows the arrival of Ben Hick to Azets’ Leeds corporate finance team earlier this year and supports the firm’s continued investment in its UK corporate finance offering, which advised on 124 disclosed deals during 2025.
