WYN Chamber appoints new vice-president
West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce has appointed Ken Merry as vice-president for York and North Yorkshire.
Ken, principal and chief executive of York College, will represent employers across the region, serving alongside current president Scott Jenkins.
Since joining York College in 2023, he has worked with more than 1500 employers while leading an institution that supports around 10,000 students, helping to strengthen the skills pipeline across the region.
Ken said: “I am delighted to be elected as vice president of York & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.
“York & North Yorkshire has enormous strengths: ambitious businesses, talented people and a spirit of collaboration that is difficult to match.
“I look forward to working alongside our members to champion the interests of employers, support economic growth and ensure that businesses have the skilled workforce they need to succeed.
“Together, we have an opportunity to shape an even stronger future for our region.”
Ken’s appointment reinforces the Chamber’s commitment to championing businesses across York and North Yorkshire while supporting skills development and economic growth.
