Surveying firm plots growth with acquisition

An engineering survey firm has expanded with a takeover. 

Survey Solutions has bought Site-Eye.

The business says the swoop “further strengthens its construction monitoring capabilities (and provides) an even broader range of services”.

Headquartered in Solihull, Survey Solutions’ portfolio includes land and underground surveying and measured building and drone surveys, which are delivered by an office network spanning from Glasgow to Yeovil.

Known for construction time-lapse cameras, filming and media production services, Site-Eye operates from a Brighton base and a head office in Hebden Bridge, near Halifax.

David Lowe, chief executive of Survey Solutions, whose office estate includes bases in Leeds, London, Manchester and Newcastle, said: “Site-Eye is a well-established business with an excellent reputation and highly complementary expertise.

“We look forward to welcoming the team as we continue to grow our business.”

Gareth Evans-McClave, managing director of Site-Eye, who has remained with the business following the acquisition, added: “Joining Survey Solutions is an exciting opportunity.

“It will enable us to build on our success while becoming part of a larger group that shares our commitment to quality and customer service.”

The deal represents Survey Solutions’ third acquisition since undergoing a WestBridge-backed management buyout in late 2023, having previously bought rail and highway survey and monitoring firm JWG Survey & Engineering and power and water utility sector operator SurvaTec.

The business’ office portfolio additionally includes bases in Bristol, Coventry, Ipswich, Nottingham and Wokingham.
