McLaren appointed to YORbuild framework
A building contractor has secured a place on a major public sector procurement framework, strengthening its position to deliver large-scale projects across the North of England.
McLaren Construction Yorkshire & North East has been appointed to Lot 2 of the £1.5 billion YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework, covering projects valued at more than £30 million.
Managed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Leeds City Council, the framework spans Yorkshire and the Humber, the North East, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and parts of Leicestershire.
It provides public sector organisations with a route to procure major building works over an initial four-year term, with the option to extend for a further two years.
McLaren’s Yorkshire & North East division, based in Leeds and led by managing director Andrew Beaumont, will bid for projects through the framework using its experience across a range of public sector schemes.
Andrew said: “Securing a place on the YORbuild Framework is fantastic news for the Yorkshire & North East region and delivers on the strategic objectives we set ourselves in 2025.
“This strengthens our ability to support public sector organisations and allows us to focus on schemes where we can add genuine value from the outset.
“It also gives us a platform to demonstrate our commitment to social value, working with the framework’s YOR4Good Fund and YORscep, to create meaningful opportunities for communities and local supply chain partners.”
The appointment reinforces McLaren’s long-term commitment to the region and builds on its growing public sector portfolio, which contributed £250 million to the company’s turnover in its last financial year.
