Lovell appoints regional managing director
National partnership housing specialist Lovell has appointed Alex Isted as regional managing director for Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire as it looks to support continued growth across the region.
Alex joins from sister company Morgan Sindall Construction, where he established the North East and Cumbria business in 2022.
He brings experience in developing teams, setting strategy and working with public and private sector partners to deliver major projects.
In his new role, Alex will oversee Lovell’s regional operations, including business development, people and talent development, stakeholder relationships and delivery standards for customers and partners.
He said: “I am proud to work within the Morgan Sindall Group, having been here for nearly 17 years working on a range of projects and leading key businesses.
“I enjoy a real challenge so when the opportunity arose to lead another business within the wider group, it was an exciting one.
“The blend of construction and development at Lovell is what attracted me.
“It takes strategic thinking and creativity to bring schemes to reality and partnership working is something I have always found rewarding.
“Partnership working is about being part of a long-term, diverse team.
“It is about understanding relationships, what makes people tick, what their challenges are and how we can deliver together.
“That long-term approach means Lovell can make a real difference beyond building homes, leaving tangible impact within the communities where we work.
“I want to build a people-focused culture with high expectations, where people are supported
to learn, improve and take pride in what they do.
“I am looking forward to getting to know our teams, partners and customers.”
Alex’s appointment comes as Lovell focuses on expanding its presence across Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire, where it currently has ten live developments and plans to increase delivery to 500 homes a year across joint venture, mixed tenure and contracting schemes.
Lovell managing director Steve Coleby added: “Alex has a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, while consistently delivering for both public and private sector partners.
“With extensive experience across contracting and development, he brings the breadth of knowledge and leadership needed to support our ambitions.
“Alex is a strong advocate for our partnership housing model, making him an excellent choice to lead our growth plans across Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire.
“Partnerships have been at the heart of our business for more than 50 years.
“Being a trusted partner means doing what we say we will do, remaining flexible, taking a long-term view, and seeing challenges through our partners’ eyes so we can find solutions together.
“Alex understands this approach and will bring it to our teams, partners and communities as we continue to grow.”
