Nixon Hire appoints sector leaders

Newcastle-based Nixon Hire has appointed four senior sector leaders as it strengthens its commercial focus across construction, infrastructure, renewable energy and utilities.

Paul Spooner has been appointed director of strategic partnerships for infrastructure, with Paul Corson becoming head of strategic partnerships for renewable energy.

Samuel Nutter joins as head of strategic partnerships for utilities, and Mark Johnson takes on the role of head of strategic partnerships for construction.

Paul Spooner previously served as business development director at Nixon Hire, while Paul Corson has been promoted from his role as major account manager.

Samuel joins from United Rentals, bringing experience across the utilities and rental sectors.

Mark joins from CCF, part of Travis Perkins Group, having previously held senior roles at Speedy Hire.

Their appointments form part of Nixon Hire’s wider strategy to reinforce its position as a specialist partner for sustainable sites following the launch of its Pulse customer portal and strategic partner network, enhancing its expertise across construction, infrastructure, renewable energy and utilities to provide customers with more tailored support.

Brian Cornett, chief executive of Nixon Hire, said: “Customers are asking more of their site partners.

“They need practical support that reflects how their market works, the standards they need to meet and the outcomes they are trying to achieve around safety, sustainability, efficiency and performance.

“These appointments put experienced sector knowledge closer to our customers, with each bringing strong market understanding, trusted relationships and practical experience in sectors that are central to Nixon Hire’s growth.

“We have made significant progress in building the capabilities behind our experts in sustainable sites strategy.

“These new roles help bring those capabilities together around the markets where we believe we can add the most value for customers.”
