Business Rescue Expert expands North West team
Business Rescue Expert has strengthened its North West operation with the appointment of Gareth Hunt as the restructuring and insolvency practice continues to expand its regional presence.
Based in the firm’s Manchester office, Gareth joins from RPG, where he was head of business recovery.
He brings more than 20 years’ experience in the debt advisory and insolvency sector, having advised businesses and individuals across a wide range of industries including retail, hospitality, construction, waste management and healthcare.
In his new role, Gareth will oversee a broad range of corporate and personal insolvency matters, including company voluntary arrangements, liquidations, administrations and bankruptcies, while also providing turnaround and restructuring advice to businesses facing financial challenges.
He said: “Joining the firm’s Manchester office is a great opportunity to build on my experience while helping to grow the practice.
“I’m excited for this new challenge and look forward to working with the team to support clients and strengthen the firm’s presence across the region.”
Eamonn Wall, BRE founder and chief executive, added: “We are expanding rapidly in the North West, and this will mean more appointments in the coming months.
“Gareth has a broad range of experience handling cases across the insolvency spectrum, which fits really well with the work we are doing.
“We are seeing a lot of activity in sectors such as hospitality, construction, retail and recruitment as global economic factors continue to put pressure on businesses.
“Consumers are becoming more cautious with their spending amid an uncertain outlook, while increased business costs for employers are also taking their toll.
“Alongside this, HMRC is taking a more proactive approach to tax collection and is issuing winding-up petitions sooner than in recent years.
“Having said that, there are still opportunities for stronger businesses to avoid liquidation through CVAs and other forms of restructuring.”
Gareth’s appointment follows the launch of Business Rescue Expert’s Manchester office last autumn and supports the firm’s continued growth across the North West.
Headquartered in Darlington, the independent practice specialises in corporate recovery and insolvency services, and earlier this year expanded its offering with the launch of Turnaround & Restructuring Expert, providing strategic support to SMEs seeking to overcome financial pressures and avoid formal insolvency where possible.
Managing director Kevin Pinkerton added: “Gareth has impressive technical skills and an excellent approach to dealing with cases in a manner which ensures the best outcomes for clients.
“He brings a wealth of experience at a senior level and is a great addition to the team.
“We’re confident he will make a strong contribution to the practice and enhance our ability to attract new business.”
