Interiors specialist eyes growth after 'strong' year
An interiors specialist says it has “exceeded expectations” after reporting turnover of more than £7 million following the completion of a series of commercial fit-out projects.
Ben Johnson Interiors, which has offices in York and Newcastle, generated the revenue between March and December 2025 following its relaunch under a new brand last year.
The company is now targeting further growth during 2026, with bosses saying it has “already enjoyed a strong first half of the year” and has secured “a healthy pipeline of work”.
Among its recent projects is the fit-out of Sweco’s new 15,000sq ft Leeds office at 1 Whitehall Riverside, creating workspaces, collaboration areas and staff facilities for around 200 employees.
The firm has also refurbished the reception area at 2 City West in Leeds on behalf of Davlea Estates and is delivering projects across a number of the property company’s sites nationwide.
Elsewhere, Ben Johnson Interiors completed an 18,000sq ft fit-out and furniture package at Next’s headquarters in Leicester, transforming a vacant space into a new employee hub featuring a restaurant, commercial kitchen and training centre.
Meanwhile in Sheffield, the company delivered a new medical facility and doctors’ surgery for One Medical, including specialist treatment and clinical spaces.
Emma Dodsley, director at Ben Johnson Interiors, said: “Ben Johnson has been part of Yorkshire’s business community since 1855.
“Whilst our roots were in printing, today we’re focused on creating workplaces and specialist environments for organisations across the UK.
“We also work for numerous well-known large-scale commercial property landlords including Davlea Estates, as well as recently working on projects for Rockstar Games, SpaMedica, Keepmoat Homes, Mott MacDonald, Arriva and Pro-Pak Foods, creating high-end and bespoke interiors in commercial, office and mixed-use developments nationwide.
“In March 2025, we relaunched and rebranded to Ben Johnson Interiors, which reflects the business we’ve become, creating environments that support collaboration, wellbeing and productivity.
“Generating more than £7 million in revenue during our first nine months exceeded our expectations and we’re building on this in 2026.
“We’ve already enjoyed a strong first half of the year and have secured a healthy pipeline of work.
“With new projects beginning across England in the landlord, healthcare, education and office sectors, we’re looking forward to another year of growth.”
