IT consultancy aims to power on after buyout
An IT consultancy is aiming to plug into fresh growth after an operational restructure.
Fluid has undergone a management buyout.
The Leeds-based operator is now led by chief executive Gareth Murphy alongside directors Jason Lock, Michael McCarthy and Alex Pidgeon.
Employing a 19-strong team, Fluid provides technology and consultancy services to clients including Bettys & Taylors Group, Key Capital Partners and Outdo.
Under the terms of the deal, the company says Gareth – who co-founded Fluid in 2013 and underwent a previous management buyout in 2023 to become managing director – retains a 33 per cent stake in the business.
It adds remaining shares are held by IT transformation director Jason, technology director Michael and commercial director Alex, with a wider pool available for future management.
Gareth said: “I am incredibly excited for this next chapter.
“When I bought out our previous shareholders, it was always my goal to put Fluid back in the hands of its people.
“I am very proud to have reached that milestone and hope we can welcome more of our leaders to the fold in future as we continue to grow.
“Day-to-day operations will not change, and we hope this move will allow us to provide an even more tailored and personal service.”
The deal was supported by corporate lawyers Sharon Needle and Connor Kendle, of Needle, and corporate finance adviser Clive Smetham, of Whitehall Corporate Finance.
