Military vehicle maker in £17.5 million Ukraine work
A military vehicle maker has bolstered its order book with £17.5 million work.
Armexis is set to deliver four tracked craft to Ukraine.
Bosses say the “significant milestone” will see the Harrogate-based operator send people carriers and infantry fighting vehicles to the eastern European country.
The vehicles are earmarked to be delivered during the second quarter of 2027.
Richard Matthews, Armexis group chief executive, said: “This is an extremely significant step in our operational development.
“We are especially proud our first armoured vehicles are going to Ukraine, which continues to defend its sovereignty and sets an example of heroism and resilience.
“We are confident our products will play a significant and highly effective role on the battlefield, and we hope they will save lives with their high levels of protection.”
He added: “We are creating a new and disruptive model for defence manufacturing.
“We are also proud our growth is supporting the preservation and expansion of traditional British engineering and manufacturing skills.”
