Housebuilder seals deal for development extension
A housebuilder has expanded its estate with a land deal.
Newett Homes has bought a 1.5-acre plot in Harrogate.
Officials say the parcel will extend The Pastures development with a further nine homes.
They add the scheme will feature three, four and five-bed properties, which will include solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.
Work is earmarked for completion by May next year, with Newett Homes set to contribute £65,000 towards community and local infrastructure projects.
Will Newett, chief executive at the builder, which is headquartered at Thorp Arch, near Wetherby, said: “This gives us the opportunity to deliver another collection of homes that reflects the expectations of today’s buyers.
“As a Yorkshire-based housebuilder, there is always a real sense of pride in delivering new communities within our heartland.”
Approval for the estate’s extension comes after Newett Homes broke ground on the £11 million, 27-home Cedar Grove estate in Birchencliffe, on the outskirts of Huddersfield.
