Accountancy firm makes 'milestone' HQ switch

An accountancy and business advisory firm is eyeing growth after a headquarters move.

Clive Owen has switched to Darlington’s Great North House.

Bosses say the hub – which replaces a base in the town’s Coniscliffe Road – marks a “significant evolution in its history”.

They add about 70 staff have moved into the Allington Way base, which sits alongside further offices in Durham, Middlesbrough, Newcastle and York, and complements a recent brand refresh.

Founded in 1983, the firm worked from Darlington’s Cockerton area before expanding to larger premises in the town’s Blackwell Lane in 1988 and latterly switching to its former Coniscliffe Road home.

Kevin Shotton, joint managing partner, said: “This is an exciting milestone for the firm and a significant investment in our future.

“Darlington has always been at the heart of Clive Owen and remains central to our ambitions of continued focused growth and remaining independent.”

Simon Hook, joint managing partner, added: “Our people are our greatest asset, and it is important we provide a workplace that supports collaboration, innovation and professional development.

“Together with a refreshed brand identity, this demonstrates our confidence in the future and our ongoing commitment to investing in our people, supporting our clients and contributing to the communities where we operate.”
