Gaming firm levels up with Granta Park headquarters
A Cambridge-based video games developer has relocated to Granta Park.
Jagex, creator of the long-running RuneScape franchise, has leased approximately 12,200sq ft at One Granta, relocating its headquarters to the innovation campus owned by BioMed Realty.
The move places the gaming company alongside a community of life sciences, technology and research organisations at the 120-acre campus, reinforcing Granta Park’s position as a hub for innovation-led businesses.
It also reflects a wider trend among employers seeking premium workplaces that help attract and retain talent while encouraging collaboration and supporting long-term business growth.
Keeley Vaughan-Davies, chief people and culture officer at Jagex, said: “This year we celebrate our 25th anniversary, and we are incredibly excited to begin our next chapter at One Granta.
“More than a new headquarters, it is a deliberate investment in our people.
“We have built an environment equipped with modern technology and purpose-designed collaboration spaces so that everyone can do their best work, whether on site or working in a hybrid pattern.
“Our new home also reflects Jagex’s commitment to our environmental, social and governance goals.
“One Granta is a modern, sustainable workplace designed to promote wellbeing and connectivity, and it sits within Granta Park’s wider campus, with its excellent facilities and green surroundings on our doorstep.”
One Granta, which is already more than 60 per cent let, has been designed with sustainability and employee experience in mind.
The building has achieved BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings and offers facilities including electric vehicle charging, modern office space and access to the campus’ shared facilities.
These include The Apiary, which features a gym, 25-metre heated swimming pool, spa, squash and tennis courts, nursery, restaurant and landscaped green spaces.
BioMed Realty, one of the world’s largest owners and operators of real estate for the life science and technology sectors, said Jagex’s arrival further strengthens the mix of innovative businesses based at Granta Park, which is home to organisations spanning research, technology and advanced science.
Carl Williams, director, leasing and asset management, UK, at BioMed Realty, added: “Jagex’s decision to relocate its headquarters to Granta Park reflects the campus’ appeal to a broader range of innovation-led businesses across the Cambridge innovation cluster.
“While Granta Park has long been recognized for its leadership in life sciences, we’re increasingly seeing businesses from the wider innovation economy choose our campus for its high-quality workplace environment and exceptional amenities.”
