Benifex appoints chief technology officer

Global employee benefits technology provider Benifex has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of chief technology officer Shmulik Barel.

Shmulik will lead the continued development of the company’s technology platform, with responsibility for scaling its engineering function, accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence and supporting faster product innovation.

He will work closely with chief product officer Blake Pinard to enhance Benifex’s product platform and customer experience.

An experienced technology executive, Shmulik has held senior leadership roles including chief technology officer, chief operating officer, chief executive and vice president of engineering across a number of high-growth software businesses, including Playform, Como and Workhuman.

He has extensive experience leading global engineering teams and delivering large-scale technology transformation programmes.

Shmulik said: “What drew me to Benifex is the scale of the opportunity.

Shmulik’s appointment comes as organisations increasingly look to technology to support changing workforce expectations and demonstrate the value of employee benefits.
