Tyne Housing strengthens business development team

Housing association Tyne Housing has strengthened its business development team with the appointment of funding and business development manager Rachel McPeake, as the organisation continues to expand its partnerships and secure investment to support vulnerable people across the North East.

Rachel joins from the North East Law Centre, where she served as business support manager and a member of the senior management team.

During her time there, she led operational services, funding and contract management, overseeing a range of major programmes and charitable grant-funded initiatives supporting people at risk of crisis.

In her new role, Rachel will focus on identifying funding opportunities, developing strategic partnerships and supporting the continued growth of Tyne Housing’s services in line with the organisation's long-term strategy.

Rachel said: “My first few weeks at Tyne have been great, and I’ve enjoyed learning more about the organisation and meeting the team.

“I’ve met the Residents Consultation Group, spent time at the Progression Hub, visited Ouseburn Farm, Southernwood young people's accommodation, and Westbridge which is a dedicated service for people with mental ill health, as well as getting involved in my first tender opportunities and taking part in key working groups.=

“What has really stood out is the breadth of support Tyne provides.

“Alongside its accommodation, the organisation creates opportunities for people to develop skills, build resilience and achieve their goals.

“I’m looking forward to meeting more colleagues, strengthening existing partnerships and creating new opportunities that will help Tyne continue to grow its impact across the region.”

Since 1973, Tyne Housing has provided housing, support, healthcare, training and community services for people affected by homelessness, poverty, addiction and poor physical and mental health.

Alongside its accommodation, the organisation delivers a range of initiatives designed to help people develop skills, improve wellbeing and build greater independence.

Rachel’s appointment reflects Tyne Housing’s continued commitment to growing its impact across the region through new investment opportunities and collaborative partnerships.

Steve McKinlay, chief executive of Tyne Housing, added: “Rachel brings a wealth of experience in funding, partnership development and operational leadership, alongside a genuine commitment to improving opportunities for people and communities.

“As we set out our new Strategic Plan for 2026-2031, her expertise will be invaluable in helping us build new relationships, secure investment and develop services that make a lasting difference for our residents and the wider communities we serve.

“We’re delighted to welcome Rachel to the team.”
