Developer plots growth with ex-farmland venture

A developer has bolstered its portfolio with a 13-acre deal.

Pimlico Homes has bought ex-Northumberland farmland to create a five-strong barn conversion scheme.

And it says the venture – close to Brocksbushes Farm Shop, near Corbridge – could be followed by additional “visitor accommodation and wellness facilities”.

Imad Ali, chief executive of North East-based Aykley Group, which operates Pimlico Homes, said: “This is an exciting acquisition and represents the beginning of a much bigger vision for the site.

“The initial phase will see us sensitively transform the existing agricultural buildings into five exceptional homes that celebrate the character of the original barns.

“Beyond that, we’re exploring opportunities that could further establish the site as somewhere people want to visit, stay and experience.

“This acquisition reflects our confidence and long-term commitment to investing in the region.”
