Aggregates firm boosts portfolio with quarry deal
An aggregates firm has added ballast to operations with a fresh deal.
Armstrongs Group is set to take on aggregate production at Marshalls’ Fletcher Bank Quarry in the coming days.
Officials say the company will produce a range of materials at the Ramsbottom-based site, which will “strengthen its ability to serve customers across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and the North West”.
They add it will complement existing quarry operations at Pilkington and Montcliffe, in Horwich; Brinscall, near Chorley; Waddington Fell, near Clitheroe; and Shap, in Cumbria.
The firm’s portfolio includes primary and recycled aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, rock armour and stone for construction, infrastructure, civil engineering and architectural projects.
David Armstrong, group chief executive at Bolton-based Armstrongs Group, said: “Taking on aggregate production at Fletcher Bank Quarry is a significant opportunity and an important next step in the continued growth of the business.
“Fletcher Bank is a well-established quarry with a long history of supplying high-quality materials across the region.
“We are proud to have been trusted by Marshalls to take production forward.”
