Sugoi Consulting recruits technical adviser

County Durham-based technical and commercial consultancy Sugoi Consulting has appointed Dave Turner as technical adviser.

Dave joins the business with 35 years’ experience in the metal packaging industry and will work alongside technical manager John Robson to support legacy equipment projects, bespoke engineering developments and technical purchasing.

The appointment reunites Dave with managing director Alan Rutter and John Robson, having previously worked together at metal decorating equipment manufacturer Crabtree.

His arrival follows increasing demand for bespoke engineering projects and technical solutions from clients across the global metal packaging sector.

Dave said: “I employed both of them, so I’ve known Alan and John for a long time and it’s great to be back working together. 

“Sugoi Consulting is an exciting place to be right now, and I’m looking forward to assisting with some significant new projects.” 

Sugoi Consulting said the appointment forms part of its continued investment in specialist engineering expertise as it expands its bespoke and legacy equipment offering.

The company is also growing its work with international partners across China, Turkey and other global markets while planning further specialist hires to support future growth.

Alan added: “Dave brings a wealth of experience, a black book of contacts built over three decades, and part numbers for proprietary machines dating back to the 1970s – all still in his head. 

“That knowledge doesn’t exist in any manual or database.

“His long-standing relationships with our suppliers make him well suited to our strategic, multi-supplier approach. 

“He is able to support by profiling each job, including where we can source what we need, how long it takes and the quality we can expect.
