Carden Group appoints planning manager
Strategic land business Carden Group has appointed Josh Plant as planning manager as it continues to expand its team.
Josh joins the Cheshire-based business with experience in planning policy and strategic land promotion, having previously held roles at Gladman Developments and Hive Land and Planning.
A chartered town planner, he holds an MSc in Planning from the University of Manchester and has worked on residential, regeneration and local authority-led projects.
In his new role, Josh will support Carden Group’s portfolio of strategic land opportunities, helping bring forward development sites across England through the planning system.
He said: “Carden’s proactive, commercially driven approach to strategic land promotion strongly appealed to me.
“The opportunity to be directly involved in identifying and unlocking development opportunities, through a combination of policy and promotion work, alongside driving planning applications aligned perfectly with where I wanted my career to go next.
“Joining Carden also offered the chance to take on greater responsibility within a dynamic and ambitious business operating at the forefront of land promotion and development.”
Carden Group said the appointment strengthens its planning capability as it continues to grow its portfolio of strategic land.
The business acquires and promotes sites capable of delivering between 100 and 750 homes across locations including Cheshire, Lancashire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Devon and Somerset.
Chief executive Will Heath added: “Josh is a welcome addition to our team and will play an important role in helping us to progress sites through the planning system.
“He has a proven track record of leading projects to successful outcomes, including securing committee approvals on complex residential schemes, and has been involved in Local Plan Examinations in Public where he’s helped influence policy and unlock development opportunities.”
