CSSC appoints chief executive

Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC) has appointed Peter Worster as chief executive to lead the organisation’s next phase of growth.

Peter brings more than 25 years’ experience building membership communities across the public and private sectors.

He joins CSSC from Boundless by Civil Service Motoring Association, where he served as chief operating officer, having previously helped grow IKEA FAMILY into a global membership community of more than 70 million people.

In his new role, Peter will focus on expanding CSSC’s membership, strengthening its services and supporting its mission to provide affordable health and wellbeing opportunities for civil servants and public sector workers.

Peter said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining CSSC, an organisation that uniquely blends more than 100 years of rich heritage with a purpose which has never been more relevant than it is today.

“From both a personal and professional perspective, CSSC’s values align closely with my own, particularly its commitment to helping members enjoy active, healthier lives.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with our staff, volunteers and board to help CSSC go even further in delivering outstanding member value.”

CSSC, a not-for-profit membership organisation, has supported the civil service, public sector, emergency services and armed forces for more than 100 years.
