PR and marketing firm in saddle for St Leger work
A PR and marketing agency is in the saddle for a milestone horseracing event.
Chapter II has been appointed to deliver a regional public relations campaign for the 250th running of the Betfred St Leger Festival.
Bosses say the Sheffield-based company will lead media and communications support for the Doncaster Racecourse spectacle.
They add the campaign will “showcase the festival’s rich heritage, while highlighting its continued importance as a major sporting, cultural and economic event for South Yorkshire”.
The four-day festival will take place from Thursday, September 10 to Sunday, September 13, with the 250th running of the Betfred St Leger Stakes taking place on Saturday, September 12.
Allie Dransfield, Chapter II head of agency, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be entrusted with the regional PR for such an iconic sporting event.
“The Betfred St Leger Festival has been at the heart of Doncaster for generations.
“Our team is passionate about telling stories that matter, and this is one of the biggest stories in Yorkshire this year.”
Rachel Harwood, Doncaster Racecourse executive director, added: “The 250th anniversary Betfred St Leger Festival is an incredibly significant moment for British racing.
“Chapter II demonstrated a real passion for the festival and a strong understanding of its heritage.”
