Subsea contractor grows with 'significant' new office
A subsea energy sector contractor says it has dug foundations for future success after completing an office expansion.
Film-Ocean has opened a North East base.
The company says the move marks “a significant step in its growth and commitment to delivering for offshore energy sector clients”.
It adds the office – at Cobalt Business Exchange, on the outskirts of Newcastle – will act as an “operational and project delivery base” for the remotely-operated vehicle inspection services provider to deliver support across areas including asset surveying, installation, inspection, repair and decommissioning.
Sophie Bryce, commercial manager at Aberdeenshire-headquartered Film-Ocean, said the expansion – which comes with recruitment plans – puts the company “in a region of growing importance to the subsea and offshore energy industry”.
She added: “Expanding our UK footprint to Newcastle is about being closer to clients and easier to work with: faster response times, closer day-to-day collaboration and more capacity to take on new projects.
“Sustainability was also front of mind when choosing our new office.
“Cobalt’s environmental credentials mean our growth in the North East is happening in a way that’s consistent with how we operate in Aberdeenshire, and with the values our clients increasingly expect from their supply chain partners.”
