Technology firm secures £100,000 growth support
A technology firm has unveiled global expansion ambitions after securing £100,000 support.
Apollo3D is rolling out a recruitment drive and equipment upgrade.
Officials say the outlay will allow the Otley-based company to take on seven staff over the next year as it seeks to build on a 30 per cent surge in annual inbound enquiries.
They add it will also enable the 12-staff business to “build a dedicated commercial team” and buy 3D camera hardware to build on record £550,000 annual revenues.
The business, founded in 2017 by Mark Shepherd, creates 3D digital replicas of physical buildings for the retail, healthcare, hospitality and facilities management sectors, with its software and mapping technology used by organisations including Marks & Spencer and the NHS.
It previously supported an LED lighting upgrade across more than 350 Primark stores.
The business secured its support through a £100,000 commercial loan under the British Business Bank’s Growth Guarantee Scheme.
Director Mark said: “Over the last year, we have seen digital twins move from a great marketing tool to an everyday operational necessity for organisations.
“This funding gives us the financial footing to scale our business development operation properly.
“Bringing in new talent allows us to actively pursue major corporate contracts and build a permanent presence in new sectors.”
Fellow company director Rob Wilyman added: “This loan means we can hire specialised sales staff immediately, rather than pacing our recruitment over a longer period.
“It allows us to move from being a technical scanning service to a true software-led partner for building management and estate analytics on a global scale.”
