Housing provider launches latest community fund
A housing provider has launched the latest round of a neighbourhood cash pot.
Beyond Housing has re-opened its Community Fund.
Bosses say the venture will offer grants up to £1000 to projects across Redcar, Scarborough, Whitby and surrounding areas.
They add the fund will this year focus on projects that help keep communities safe or strengthen neighbourhood relationships, with the pot open to charities, voluntary and community groups, residents’ associations and other not-for-profit organisations.
Laura Young, community partnership and engagement manager, said: “We are thrilled to see the return of our Community Fund for 2026.
“It supports our key objective of investing in our neighbourhoods to create great places to live and work.”
The operator last year awarded more than £10,000 to 21 projects.
Recipients included Senses Wellbeing Centre, a not-for-profit community interest company delivering sensory activities for families of children with special educational needs and disabilities in Skelton, East Cleveland.
Futureworks NY, in Scarborough, also received funding for its youth development work, with cash helping to buy equipment including dyslexia pens.
