Bubble bath firm lands Sainsbury's supply deal

A sister-run bubble bath firm is aiming to make a multi-million-pound splash after securing a supermarket deal.

Good Bubble has landed a 268-store Sainsbury’s agreement.

And bosses Amy Lister and Sally Wordsworth say the listing leaves the Greater Manchester-based company well placed to meet a £7 million revenue target within five years.

Under the terms of its Sainsbury’s agreement, two products from its Gruffalo-branded range will hit supermarket shelves from August 1.

The partnership marks the widest national distribution deal in the company’s history, and comes a year after the business, based in Middleton, near Oldham, lost more than half its stock in a warehouse fire.

Amy, founder and managing director of the firm, whose products also include Zog-branded bath fizzers and Peppa Pig-branded hair and body wash, said: “There is no big parent company behind us.

“It’s just the two of us, and we’ve really been tested to think on our feet and respond quickly to highly stressful situations.

“When the big players start turning up in your aisle, it usually means you were right.

“We have spent eight years proving that children’s bath time can be skin-kind, planet-friendly and fun at the same time.

“If the biggest personal care companies in the world now agree with us, then that’s great.”
