Office fit-out firm 'changes dynamic' with HQ revamp

A commercial interiors and office fit-out firm says it has “changed the dynamic” after carrying out a headquarters revamp.

Nurture Workspace has launched an interactive client showroom.

The company says the venture – which removed walls at its Sunderland-based North East BIC home – marks a “major milestone” in its 12-year history.

It adds the expansion, which has merged two units at the Wearside business hub, has seen the company switch to trade as Nurture Workspace by Posture Team.

Founded in 2015 by Michael White, the business launched as an ergonomic office seating and musculoskeletal workspace set-up provider, but has since expanded into commercial interiors and office renovations. 

Michael, managing director, said: “Having the new showroom has allowed us to offer so much more to clients.

“You can sit in front of customers with brochures, but that’s not what they want or need.

“They need to see how the furniture fits, test the ergonomics and feel the fabrics and finishes for themselves.

“Our business is all about bringing earthy, homely and collaborative elements back into corporate interiors to make people feel comfortable at work.

“Having this space to showcase 2D and 3D walkthrough layouts changes the dynamic entirely.”

Doreen Howard, North East BIC centre manager, added: “Michael’s journey is a brilliant example of why the BIC exists.

“Business growth is rarely a straight line, but by having the freedom to scale his space up and down over the last 12 years, he has built a resilient and thriving business.

“The new showroom is a well-deserved milestone.”
