Engineer flushed with success in water deal
An engineering firm has strengthened its order book with a utilities deal.
Egis has secured a place on Yorkshire Water’s £80 million technical services and assurance framework.
The London, Edinburgh and Manchester-based operator says the tie-up “marks a significant milestone and reinforces its water sector growth plans”.
It adds the agreement – set to run until 2030, with a two-year extension option – will support Yorkshire Water’s Asset Management Period 8 investment programme, which is aimed at bolstering service delivery.
Working on the framework’s lot one, bosses say Egis will provide project-level engineering and design services, including feasibility testing, optioneering and construction support across civil, mechanical and electrical design.
The appointment builds on work with Ireland’s Uisce Éireann and Severn Trent Water.
Michael Timmins, director of water at Egis in the UK, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Yorkshire Water to help deliver one of the sector’s largest and most ambitious asset management period programmes.
“We look forward to bringing together expertise from across the UK, Ireland and our global network to support Yorkshire Water in improving asset health, enhancing environmental performance and delivering positive outcomes for customers.”
Egis’ UK office network includes further sites in Bristol, Farnborough and Derby, while it also runs an Omnia Projects base in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
