Tech firm dials up growth with 'landmark' takeover
A technology firm has expanded with a takeover.
ASK4 has bought IMS Connect.
Bosses say the “landmark” swoop will “deepen technical expertise and sector relationships” across the Sheffield-based multi-tenant building internet connectivity and managed IT support provider’s portfolio.
They add the move for Limerick-based IMS Connect will bolster ASK4’s presence across the hospitality and serviced living sectors, where it provides support including connectivity, managed Wi-Fi and energy management to operators including Staycity Group and Dalata Hotel Group.
Under the terms of the deal, IMS Connect’s leadership team will remain with the business “as it integrates into ASK4”.
Services will operate under IMS Connect by ASK4 as products are integrated into ASK4’s wider platform.
Andrew Dutton, chief executive at ASK4, which runs further offices in Berlin, Madrid and Milan, said: “This is a landmark moment.
“It opens an entirely new market for us in long-stay hospitality, while also strengthening our presence in Ireland and across Europe.
“IMS Connect has built something truly impressive over the past two decades: a loyal client base, a talented team and a technology offer that is genuinely best-in-class for the hospitality sector.”
Shane Hartigan, IMS Connect founder, added: “Selling a business you have built from the ground up is never a decision taken lightly.
“However, bringing IMS Connect into ASK4 creates an exciting opportunity.
“I’m excited for the next chapter as we continue delivering exceptional experiences for customers across the hospitality and living sectors.”
ASK4, which has further offices across countries including Austria, Denmark, France and the Netherlands, is backed by London and US-based investor GI Partners.
Marco Morra, of GI Partners, added: “This acquisition reflects the type of expansion we believe creates long-term value: entering adjacent markets with strong fundamentals, leveraging existing capability and accelerating growth through scale and expertise.”
