Industrial parts cleaner polishes offer with move

An industrial parts cleaner is eyeing jobs growth after a headquarters move.

Sonic Solutions has switched from three units to a central base.

Bosses say the investment leaves the Huddersfield-based business poised to increase its workforce from ten to “15 and more in the next 18 months”.

They add the firm has swapped three rented units covering 3750sq ft and a shared yard for a 9000sq ft hub with private yard space spanning 6000sq ft, revealing plans are in place to install solar power and water harvesting apparatus.

Founded more than 20 years ago, the company is known for services including ultrasonic cleaning, pyrolysis and thermal stripping, media blasting and jet washing.

Andrew Taylor, managing director, said: “The team is delighted to be together under one roof.

“Not only does it mean we can operate more effectively together, but we’ve also been able to position machinery so we can optimise production efficiency. 

“It’s an exciting time as we grow into new markets and look to take advantage of different cleaning capabilities. 

“While we had – prior to the move – started to target defence, rail and metals recovery markets, we were unable to fully develop our offer as they require production capacity and storage space far in excess of what we previously had available. 

“Going forward, if we continue to expand as planned, we will be taking on more employees, and it is not unrealistic to see our ten staff growing to 15 and more in the next 18 months.”
