Pilates entrepreneurs stretch into second studio

A pair of Yorkshire entrepreneurs are expanding their wellness business with the opening of a second studio in Leeds.

BLOC STUDIO, founded by lifelong friends and business partners Hannah Campbell and Katie Reisch, has launched a new site in Roundhay following the success of its Reformer Pilates studio in Chapel Allerton.

Opened on August 4, the new venue will broaden the company’s offering beyond Reformer Pilates, with classes including Mat Pilates, Barre, Yoga and Tai Chi.

Specialist sessions covering pre and post-natal exercise and breathwork will also be available.

Located just off Street Lane, the studio features four rooms, including a 50sq metre main space with capacity for up to 20 people.

Existing BLOC STUDIO instructors will deliver some of the programme, while new team members specialising in the additional disciplines have joined the business as part of the expansion.

Hannah and Katie established BLOC STUDIO around their shared interest in low-impact, mindful movement, with the new Roundhay site designed to accommodate people of different ages, abilities and experience levels.

Classes will run from early morning into the evening, with private bookings also available outside the standard timetable.

Katie said: “When we opened our first studio back in February 2025, we always knew we wanted to grow and have a Mat studio in the future, so to us this feels like the natural extension of everything we’ve been building over the last 17 months. 

“We’re incredibly proud of all we’ve accomplished so far and the glowing feedback we’ve had from many of our Chapel Allerton members shows that we’ve created something really special with BLOC STUDIO. 

“Ultimately, a big goal for us is to make Pilates and other forms of movement as accessible as possible for the people of Leeds – and we are so excited that we can now offer a wider range of classes.”

Hannah, a Roundhay native, added: “Having grown up in Roundhay, opening a second studio here feels even more special on a personal level – and I know the area is a real community hub. 

“But, while we are a premium studio with a focus on high quality and expert-led classes with top-of-the-range equipment, we also want to mirror Roundhay’s strong community elements, by making our members feel like they’re a part of a community at our studio – and not just doing an exercise class.

“Going forward we also want the BLOC STUDIO brand to be known as a place for people to get to know each other outside classes, whilst taking some time out. 

“This is why we also hold regular brunch mornings at San Carlo Flying Pizza on Street Lane, in collaboration with big names in beauty such as Charlotte Tilbury, NEOM and Skin Doctor Leeds.”
