Acting Office appoints chief revenue officer
Cloud-based accountancy software provider Acting Office has appointed Matt Barnes as chief revenue officer as it looks to accelerate its growth.
Matt brings more than 35 years’ experience across the accountancy software and IT sectors, joining after 12 years at Wolters Kluwer, where he most recently served as sales director.
His career also includes more than 18 years at IRIS Software, including as head of business development.
In his new role, Matt will identify growth opportunities, develop new relationships with accountancy firms and scale Acting Office’s sales function as the business expands.
Matt said: “Acting Office is redefining how accountancy firms operate, providing technology that lets organisations swap out five different systems for one.
“It’s an exciting moment for the company and the industry, and it’s an environment where I can directly shape growth, building our team, client relationships and taking this great offering to the market.”
Matt’s appointment follows the recent arrival of Wendy Rowe as chief strategy and enterprise officer, further strengthening Acting Office’s leadership team as it targets expansion amid growing adoption of AI and a shift towards more advisory-focused services across the accountancy sector.
Kenny MacAulay, chief executive of Acting Office, added: “Matt has an incredible track record in the accounting and software space, growing organisations through industry shifts, making him the perfect person to lead Acting Office’s next phase of expansion.
“Now is the time to double down on investing in staff and technology and build the infrastructure for the next era of the industry.
“With Matt on board leading our revenue function, Acting Office is well-placed for growth.”
