MEC strengthens senior team with structures lead

Engineering consultancy MEC Consulting Group has appointed Daniel Tuley as associate to lead its Structures division across the Midlands.

Daniel is a qualified structural engineer with 13 years’ experience and will oversee a team providing technical designs, surveys, assessments and advice across commercial, residential and heritage projects.

Working across MEC's Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham offices, Daniel will also mentor assistant structural engineer Euan Broughton.

His current projects include structural work for residential developments in Repton and Solihull, the conversion of an industrial building into padel courts in Market Harborough, and assessments for proposed residential schemes in Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire.

Daniel said: “This role was exciting as it offered the chance to expand MEC’s Structures discipline.

“The team has a strong existing client base, but there is definitely scope to broaden this, particularly in sectors I’ve worked in before such as food production, vehicle manufacturing and aerospace, so these will be new targets.

“From my initial conversations, I was impressed by the company’s ambitious and forward-thinking management team, and I liked the opportunity to collaborate with the other division leads on multi-disciplinary projects.”

Daniel’s appointment strengthens MEC's senior management team and structural engineering expertise as the consultancy continues to deliver projects across the Midlands.
