Logistics firm helps charity deliver £1 million goal
A North East logistics company is delivering support for the Alan Shearer Foundation as the charity aims to raise £1 million for a new hydrotherapy pool.
TSP Fulfilment is using its nationwide logistics expertise to automate the Foundation’s fulfilment operation, managing online orders, stock control, packing and delivery.
The support forms part of the charity’s ‘Million Pound Mission’, which is raising funds through sales of limited-edition designer hoodies featuring distinctive artwork on the hood and a range of UV-protected colourways.
Officials hope efficiencies generated by TSP will reduce costs, allowing more of the proceeds to support the campaign.
Funds will help deliver an additional hydrotherapy pool, doubling monthly session capacity and reducing waiting times.
Matt Bowmaker, director at the Alan Shearer Foundation, said: “Membership has already soared to over 10,000 children and adults, living with complex disabilities, and we want to do our best to help them.
“With the first pool already at capacity, securing consistent access to a second pool is now a priority, and partnering with TSP Fulfilment ensures we can seamlessly deliver this campaign and get members the regular therapy they rely on.”
Jack Greenwell, business development manager at TSP Fulfilment, added: “We’re incredibly proud to support a charity that changes so many lives across the North East.
“By taking care of the fulfilment operation that helps support the Million Pound Mission, we hope the Foundation can focus on what it does best, raising funds and supporting its members.”
Water therapy can provide pain relief and muscle relaxation for people with severe physical limitations and medical needs.
Increasing capacity will allow more members to access regular treatment designed to improve mobility, reduce pain and support greater independence.
Alan Shearer, former Newcastle United and England captain and founder of the Foundation, added: “When we opened the Alan Shearer Centre, we wanted it to be somewhere families could come, feel supported and know they weren’t on their own.
“Seeing how many people now rely on the hydrotherapy pool shows just how important it is, and why we need to build a second one.
“The Million Pound Mission is our biggest fundraising challenge yet, so every bit of support makes a difference.
“TSP Fulfilment has been brilliant.
“By looking after the stock, packing and delivery of our hoodies, they’re helping us keep costs down, which means more money from every sale can go towards building that second pool.”
