Salko UK completes ‘vital’ Dutch project in 37 days

A Yorkshire engineering firm has powered through a major European energy project, completing critical maintenance works in just 37 days.

Salko UK, which is headquartered in Spaldington, near Goole, deployed a 13-strong team to the Maxima Centrale in the Netherlands, working alongside ENGIE on three exhaust gas housings and diffusers.

The maintenance has restored the unit for optimal efficiency and performance ahead of planned operation later this year.

Salko UK was selected for the project due to its experience delivering turnkey services for gas turbine exhaust systems, including comprehensive and localised repairs and complete liner replacements.

Sim Sharphouse, operations manager at Salko UK, said: “We’re proud to have successfully delivered this vital project in just 37 days.

“Our team’s expertise ensured all units were repaired to the highest standard, supporting the project as it prepares for operation.

“Projects like this showcase the depth of our mechanical capabilities and the value of a highly skilled workforce.

“By working closely with ENGIE, we have been able to deliver tailored solutions that meet bespoke standards, demonstrating our commitment to safety, quality and timely delivery.

“We look forward to continuing to support ENGIE in driving forward the transition to cleaner, more efficient energy systems as this site prepares for operation.”

Salko UK provides mechanical and electrical expertise across the power generation, construction and engineering industries.

Its wider experience also spans the mining, industrial, energy and nuclear sectors.
