Contemporary Art Gallery KELLART Acquires TheFramers.co.uk in Framing Expansion

Contemporary art gallery KELLART has acquired TheFramers.co.uk as it expands its bespoke framing business following growing demand from customers.

KELLART operates galleries in London and Bristol, specialising in contemporary art from emerging artists and helping collectors discover original works for their homes and collections.

The acquisition will see the gallery grow its existing framing operation under The Framers brand, offering professional bespoke framing for artwork, photography, memorabilia and other valuable or sentimental pieces.

The move follows an increase in customers approaching KELLART for framing advice, not only for artwork purchased through the gallery, but also for pieces they already own.

Lara Simon, Managing Director of KELLART, said: “Framing has always been closely connected to what we do as a gallery, but we were increasingly being asked by customers to help with pieces they had sourced elsewhere.

“We realised there was an opportunity to take the expertise we already had and develop it into a much broader service.

“TheFramers.co.uk gives that part of the business its own identity and creates something we can grow independently alongside KELLART.”

The Framers will provide customers with advice on frame styles, mounts, glazing and materials, with each frame made to the requirements of the individual piece.

The process begins online at TheFramers.co.uk, where customers submit details and photographs of the piece they would like framed. They can then choose between an in-person consultation at a KELLART gallery in London or Bristol or a video consultation, allowing the entire process to be handled remotely.

Simon added: “Bespoke framing can feel complicated because there are so many choices, so we want to make it much more approachable.

“Customers don't need to know what frame, mount or glazing they need.

“Whether it's an original artwork, a photograph, memorabilia or something with personal significance, we can guide them through the options and help them find the right way to present and protect it.”

Complimentary framing consultations are available both in person and remotely, with collection and delivery options enabling customers to use the service regardless of where they are based.

The expanded service is built around the idea of “Frame What Matters Most”, with The Framers catering for everything from contemporary artwork and photography to memorabilia and pieces with personal significance.
