Engineering firm expands with Birmingham base

An engineering consultancy has strengthened its UK presence with the launch of an 11-strong Birmingham operation as part of ambitious growth plans.

Harley Haddow has opened its eighth UK location at Runway East, marking the multidisciplinary firm’s third new office in four years.

The Midlands team will be led by director Scott Lydon, supported by regional director Jeremy Silvester, and includes engineers, a Building Information Modelling specialist, an office manager and two apprentices.

Harley Haddow accelerated plans for the Birmingham launch by recruiting experienced technical and administrative professionals.

The new operation will provide consultancy across mechanical, electrical and public health systems, alongside advising public and private-sector clients on building performance and efficiency.

Scott said: “We know the regional market and its players very well and that, supported by the solid foundations of a 76-year-old business, is a recipe for success.  

“Harley Haddow’s tactical move will ensure continuity across the built environment and provide a strong platform for growth.”

Established in 1950, Harley Haddow also provides civil and structural, geotechnical, energy and sustainability and net-zero expertise across the UK.
