Hiab UK appoints forestry and recycling specialist

Lifting equipment specialist Hiab UK has appointed Michael Kelly as sales executive for forestry and recycling in a newly created role supporting growth across the two sectors.

Michael moves into the position after working as an application engineer at Hiab, where he developed extensive technical and product knowledge while supporting customers with their lifting requirements.

A mechanical engineering graduate, he began his career in the hydraulics industry before gaining further operational experience as a workshop manager.

In his new role, Michael will work with customers across the UK to identify suitable lifting solutions while helping grow Hiab’s forestry and recycling business.

His focus will include supporting customers looking to reduce downtime, improve operator safety and maximise the working life of their equipment through Hiab’s products, digital solutions and aftersales support.

Michael said: “I’m excited because this role combines the aspects of my career that I enjoy most: working with customers, solving technical challenges and applying my engineering knowledge to real-world applications.

“I’m looking forward to building relationships with customers across the forestry and recycling sectors, expanding my industry knowledge and helping businesses find the right solutions for their operations.

“Customers are looking for equipment that offers long-term reliability, lower operating costs and excellent support, and that's where Hiab can really add value.

“Technologies such as HiConnect, advanced crane control systems and remote diagnostics are helping customers maximise uptime, improve safety and get more from every machine.”

Max Thiele, vice president sales and business development, lifting solutions, added: “The creation of this dedicated role reflects Hiab UK’s commitment to strengthening our presence in the forestry and recycling sectors.

“These are specialist industries with unique operational challenges, and our customers increasingly value expert support alongside high-performance equipment.

“Michael's technical background and experience within Hiab make him ideally placed to help customers identify the right solutions while supporting our continued growth in these important markets.”

Marcel Boxem, vice president forestry and recycling, added: “Forestry and recycling remain strategically important markets for Hiab, with growing demand for solutions that improve safety, productivity and sustainability.

“By creating this role, we’re investing in dedicated expertise that allows us to work even more closely with customers, understand their evolving needs and continue delivering innovative lifting solutions backed by market-leading service and support.”
